It’s just a word, but I think it’s keeping most people away from their goals. Indecision is a phase where you are just stuck, not moving or exploring more things, and this is where things start to decrease your productivity and consume more of your time on things that really don’t matter.
I have been in this situation multiple times, and it’s the worst place a person can be, where you can’t move or explore other options. The worst possible part is not the lack of a decision; it’s that it consumes so much of your time, and you know you have the potential to be more, but because of indecision, you are not able to move a needle.
Well, if you ask what the reasons for indecision can be, what I have discovered is that there can be multiple reasons, one of the main ones being that you want to do everything. On the surface, it’s easy, and you think doing everything is good, but working on everything at the exact same time makes it difficult to keep up with all the decisions. A person has limited time to work, but scattering their attention and thinking about everything makes it difficult to move forward with a single decision.
One more reason can be believing that the decision you are going to make will not be as fruitful as the outcomes of other decisions, and that all leads to indecision.
We have so far talked about indecision and how it’s bad for us. Let’s now talk about how to resolve it and move the actual needle (I’m telling you from my personal experience).
The first step to take is to know whether you are experiencing indecision or not.
And if you are able to recognize that you are in this phase, then just take a sheet of paper and sit in a quiet place. Think about all the possible solutions and paths you could take, and within a single day, you can decide where you want to go and go for it. And if you have made the decision, then never look back.
Remember, you are the one who decided to take on this journey with full consciousness, so this is how you can eliminate indecision and the waste of time.
